Didn't make that many pictures, but i'll show you what i got
We (me and my girlfriend) went to Cologne on thursday and friday, where we went to gamescom on friday. On thursday night however we spotted this truck on the parking lot of the hotel, and we think some of the staff were in a room watching me run to the van to check it out, because the next morning our car was the only one with a guildwars2 card behind the windscreen wiper. Anet spies are watching me

Quickly we hurried to find the Anet stand, which was packed already. We got our first glimpses at the game, and i can tell you guys, it's amazing. Great graphics, better than what I expected. It was so busy that I didn't get to play, but from what i saw the gameplay is similar to GW1, so no worries there.
A few minutes after we arrived they started a little introduction for the game, after which they started throwing GW2 shirts into the crowd.. Yay for being tall ^^ Got one for me and one for my gf =)
When they were out of shirts, they had a little surprise for us.. Rytlock and Caithe had travelled with the staff to Cologne, so i got to get a quick glimpse of two of the main characters in GW2 =)
Immediately after this they showed a gameplay vid on the big screen. It started with the first part of the intro vid that they'd put online. I took this vid with my crappy phone camera, front part you'll have seen already, at the end you'll get a quick view of the stand and with some imagination you'll see a charr player at work.

Next they started making a player, where we got a taste of making the background story of your character. Reminiscent of the Elder Scrolls series, it's a cool idea, but I had expected more of this, since there were only three questions and not that many options. Not sure if this was reduced because of the demo..
The character they made was a female human elementalist.
BIG NEWS: Not sure if it's been announced online already, but the necromancer is the fourth profession.
During the gameplay vid we got a chance to see the events and quests, which were a bit of a disappointment. I had gotten the impression that we'd never see quest markers flying over peoples' heads, but you'll see those in the vid. Everywhere in the little town =\. Anyway, events seem to work great, and i like the layout of the minimap, skills etc.. The bosses are REALLY epic, and some of the skills are so awesome. Maybe you'll remember a picture of two giant hands sticking out of the earth? I got to see that, animated.. Jawdropping =)

After the vid we walked around the stand a bit, got goodies and had lunch, then we noticed a line forming around the back of the line. I asked an anet staffmember what the line was for, turns out it was for the artbook signing, which was more than an hour away. We hurried to the back of the line, which was pretty long already, so my gf told me we would never get an artbook.. Turns out she was wrong, but only by a little bit! Shortly after we joined the line a few guys joined behind us, and a staffmember came by, counting everybody in the line and giving stamps and numbers to those who could get an artbook. There were 80 books available for each signing, and you can see in the pic which numbers we had.. Lucky ^^
A long hour later mr. Dociu himself signed my newly acquired artbook. My girlfiend had hurried off and the other staffmember that was there went away to fetch another book (they were one short, apparently, so i almost got the last one), so nobody was there to take a pic of me with the artist, so i took a pic afterwards..
And here's what Dociu wrote in the book. I took this pic at the airport where i had to pick up my brother who flew in from Sziget. Sleepy drive home ._. pretty dangerous, but we got home safe.. ^^
And that was the end of the day =)
