Dynasty Warriors communityThe Dynasty Warriors multigaming community has been found in August 2003 and has an Eastern guild-theme based on the novel "Romance of Three Kingdoms", which in turn is based on Chinese history. In the first few years members of this guild were given the opportunity to choose a name from the history as their guild alias.
The guild consisted of an international group playing multiple online-games. Dynasty Warriors have been active in Savage,Call of Duty, Diablo2, Sacred, Counterstrike Source, UT2004, Tribes Vengeance, World of Warcraft, GuildWars, Savage2, Fury en Quake4.
Throughout the past several years many (ex-)members have enjoyed their time with the community. This could partially be derived from the amount of real-life meetings (23) that have been organised the past years.
Unfortunately the guild had lost its eternal battle against partially recruitment of new generations and lack of new games at the beginning of 2008. It was February of the year 2008 when the guild, its
Website and
Forum were taken offline. Many members still kept in touch via online networks like
Hyves,
Facebook or Messenger.
DW Guildwars2004-2005 beta phaseThis first contact with GuildWars happened during E3 For Everyone in the 12-14 May weekend. During this weekend the first few missions in Ascalon could be played. After the weekend it was still a long time until the World Preview Event in the final weekend of October 2004. The guild size expanded to 50 members. There used to be 1 beta weekend per month after the WPE, in which the guild could experience the atmosphere of the game.
During the December beta weekend it was noted that only the top 5 Guilds on the monthly Guild Ladder could
earn alpha guild status. This meant that those guilds could play the game one entire month, instead of only during the beta weekends. Starting in January 2005 DynastyWarriors played PvP to try to earn a spot in that top 5.
Eventually the team succeeded in May 2005, ending 7th place on the world list. Because some of the alpha guilds were also in the top 5 (and ineligible to win a prize/spot), the team ended eventually on the 4th spot!
As reward: Designing our own PvP Template, which could be chosen in the game. This became the
DW Healer (made by Wang Ping; and actually a quite useful build for that time)
2005 releaseIn May 2005 the game was officially released and it was during that time the
First Generation of the DW GuildWars team was officially formed. The team grew rapidly and stayed in the top 20 on the world ladder. A difference between PvP- and PvE-oriƫntated members within the guild was made and you could probably guess what happened next... those people who occasionally wanted to try out Guild Battles were usually not accepted by the PvP players, because the ladder ranking was really important to them. During the summertime some of these PvE-members were eventually allowed to play, which resulted in the loss of several strong PvP members. At the end of the summer the game World of Warcraft was also released, which resulted in the departure of many PvE-members.
After these 2 big blows on the team, a lesser strong
Second Generation DW GuildWars team was formed. This team eventually endured in its current form until Februari 2006. After that period half the team soon became inactive. At least a nomination for
Guild of the Week was still given to the guild somewhere in September 2005
2006Wtih the release of GW:Factions in April 2006 a new revival of the Dynasty Warriors team was started. Many strong players from the First Generation returned to form together the
Third Generation team. This team eventually acquired a spot back in the top 100 again. The team fell apart because of summer-inactivity and a small team stayed to play PvE together. This became the
Fourth Generation (PvE generation).
During Christmas time the team decided to break up and the members went to different English guilds.
2007-2008Around October 2007 a few of these members returned from their English guilds and brought some of their members with them to form the
Fifth Generation DW GuildWars team. A few months of active Guild Battles followed until the winter-inactivity killed this formation as well. It was in Februari 2008 that we decided to disband the Dynasty Warriors GuildWars team for good.
2010Now 2 years later we have decided to revive the once so glorious community, starting with a new team in GuildWars. This
Sixth Generation team will be formed to be active on the following grounds:
Playing together for
- Vanquishing
- Hard Mode Missions
- Speedclears related to faction farming (DTSC/MQSC)
- Dungeons
- Elite Missions
- (Title Hunt)
- Codex
- Heroes Ascent
- Guild Battles
